Craft 4 Crafters exhibition

We enjoyed displaying our quilts at Craft 4 Crafters again this year – the fourth time we’ve taken part.

100 blocks by Frances, Quilty McQuiltface by Helen, and Breaking Plaid by Denise (we love a pun!)

The star blocks show our Group Quilt work in progress

This year we are working with Children’s Hospice South West to highlight the issue of textile waste. We were shocked to learn how many donations of clothes and other textiles were not suitable for sale, and went to the ‘rag man’. We are making a quilt from items taken from the rag pile at the CHSW shop in Wellington. We hope to inspire other quilters to look at alternatives to new, bought fabric in their makes.

Also shown, Pollinate by Denise and Crop Circles by Helen.

These are our “Inspired by an Artist” challenge mini quilts, where we asked members to make a mini quilt inspired by an artist of their choice. We’ll share more detail about these in future posts.

Thank you to Annie and everyone at Craft 4 Crafters for inviting us to take part. We loved talking to visitors about modern quilting, admiring the beautiful Red Dress, making friends with our neighbours from the Sewing Bee, and (of course) shopping!
